Windows Vista has got to be one of the best operating systems Microsoft delivered yet. It offers many new improvements over XP and introduces widgets, with many new ones that you can download. The GUI is much nicer over previous versions of Windows and makes navigating around much more pleasant. Transparency is a nice added bonus for those who like using it. After over a year of using it, I have found it to be very stable, especially with the introduction of Service Pack 1 which contains many bug fixes and improvements. Vista is worth the upgrade if you are looking to consider a new OS.
The retail version also has two discs, one for 32-bit and 64-bit, depending on how you want to go and also dependent on what your hardware supports. Having run the 64-bit for a while now, it has performed great and did not disappoint. All drivers were supported with the hardware I had, mostly newer hardware from gaming controllers to video cards. There are many improvements that were made that may take getting used to, such as things in the Control Panel and Start Menu. Of course, you can always switch to the more familiar classic views if youd rather not hassle with adjusting to where everything is. This is a must-have if you are looking to buy something new for your computer or installing in a new system.
