Not a bad little MP3 player
Pros:
lots of storage
easy to use
light
battery life
Cons:
zune software
no AM radio
no clock
The Bottom Line:
Don't buy the hype that Ipod is the only music player worth having. The Zune is nothing to sniff at. Solid, useful, easy , plenty of space

Disclaimer--I did not buy my Zune. I won it and have put forth no money for the thing other than to buy a new pair of headphones for it.
However, if I did buy it, I would have been happy with my purchase. Right now, I have 857 songs and am only using 4.3 gigs. I have not uploaded any videos or pictures to it. I suppose I should, but I really just listen to it while taking the bus to and from work.
The interface is smooth and sleek. It's a bit heavier and thicker than an iPod but I don't care because I would never buy an Ipod. Not so much into the gimicky overpriced things, ya know.
Zune software takes a bit of getting used to. Couldn't figure out how to get the music off the CD onto the Zune---you have to rip the CD to the computer and then manually drag the files to the Zune icon in the corner. ALso, sometimes it automatically syncs new music to the zune, sometimes it doesn't. Kind of buggy but maybe that's just me.
You can shuffle songs, or play in order. Sort by artist, genre, album. Can make playlists, and listen to FM radio (why can't I listen to AM?). Also, if another person with a Zune is close by, you can supposedly wirelessly pick up what they're listening to. I live in Seattle (home of Microsoft) and I've never come across another person with their Zune wireless on. That's okay. I don't think anyone cares about listening to The Monkees, followed by Queen :)
I wish it had the ability to tell time. I would really like a clock feature.
Also, I would reccommend that you buy one of those protective covers for the face so it doesn't get scratched up. Mine is white, and I got a case to go with it, but I never use the case actually. And my Zune isn't dirty from handling. My friends with Ipods like that mine looks brand new while their Ipods are all scratched up. Heh.
The battery life, I think, is really great. I charge it maybe once a week, and I use it in the car (get a cassette adapter if you have a deck in your car!) and on the bus. Obviously, using video and pictures uses more battery than just music, but I've never had it poop out on me unexpectedly.
Overall, this is a nice player for a good price (granted, I didn't pay for it...). Holds tons of music and really doesn't have any drawbacks that I can think of.
