Worth the money

We purchased this when we renovated out kitchen. We choose Miele because it is quiet and I liked the ergonomics and style better than what Bosch offered. The new kitchen was an open concept and we didn't want to hear the dishwasher when we had guests, or were watching TV. Even standing beside it, it was difficult to hear it running.

Get a knowledgeable plumber to hook this up. The first fellow jury-rigged hoses which could have been a disaster the first time we ran it but for an eagle-eyed cabinet maker who immediately recognized what he'd done. The next plumber was aware that European hoses and connections were sized differently than their North American cousins.

The design and flexibility is very good. You'll need to consider what style of dishes you have. We use a lot of Denby bowl-style plates and the lower rack was the only place these would fit. The spaces are a bit too narrow and the plates collapse if I am not careful when I add things. This limitation is completely due to my dish-style choice though as this design is brilliant for securely holding plates.

I liked the fold down 'shelves' which are on both the bottom and top racks. I use short coffee cups and this is a terrific space stealing feature. I can load the dishwasher and still add all my cups on top. Every thing gets perfectly cleaned.

I was a bit leery about the utensil tray at first, but my cutlery would come out looking brand new so I was quickly converted to being a fan of that feature. There is a bit of added handling required, but it got easier and quicker until I did not even notice it. Having the cutlery on it's own rack left more usable space on the other levels as well, and it hold a lot more utensils and large items than the typical design does.
