Tom Cruise - As Hot as Always!

We, like millions of others on its first weekend, spent part of our Memorial Day watching Mission Impossible:2. We were not disappointed. I will admit I did not know a lot about the film's director, John Woo, except for what I had learned in the past few days through all the many specials and articles about his newest project, MI:2. I had learned that he likes to use different camera angles to get the shot, he likes the slow motion effect during an action sequence, and he is well-known for his big action sequences. Every aspect of his talent was used during the filming of MI:2.

The opening scene is enough to make you hold your breath, with darling Tom Cruise hanging on a cliff by one hand. Everyone has seen most of this scene in the movie trailer, and it is even more amazing on the big screen. From this point on, the action rarely pauses for a breath. Although I think some of the gun work and motorcycle chases are something you could only achieve in Hollywood, they are pretty spectacular.

The cast is excellent, as Tom always tends to be. I never get tired of looking at him. I did like Dougray Scott better as a sweet prince in Ever After, but he portrayed a bad guy fairly well. The plot, although it is somewhat complex, is not as complicated to figure out as the first Mission Impossible movie. I had everything pretty straight in my mind, even when someone was not who they were supposed to be, I predicted it. So for those who don't want ot have to think during the summer time, you can still enjoy this film.

Overall, I would say excellent movie and a must see. I definitely recommend paying to see it on the big screen so you can enjoy the action scenes to their fullest.
