2001 Mitsubishi Montero

We REALLY enjoy this vehicle! We had a 1996 Chrysler Town and Country which ended up being a maintenance nightmare. So when the chance came up to get something different, we looked at a bunch of different vehicles. I've owned 2 other Mitsu's (Eclipse and 3000 VR4) both were VERY dependable, contrary to consumer reports. The Montero is no different, we have owned this car now for over a year and it has been wonderful! In addition, we just got back from vacation and rented a Jeep Grand Cherokee, not a bad vehicle (V6, 18-20 MPG), but I found it tended to get blown around on the freeway QUITE a bit. Even though the Mitsu is taller, at 5000 lbs. it doesn't get blown around! Still very pleased with the vehicle. Bought used in San Diego. Seats are firm but comfortable, very quite ride.
