Author's Review
In researching alternatives to the iphone and other mediocre US market smart phones, I found the Ming.
Its remarkable style, strong development community and uniqueness struck me. I purchase mine on eBay along with a replacement shell kit, extra stylus and a 2gb SanDisk TransRAM. Since there is currently no support for the Ming in the US, I expected to handle any needed repairs myself.
It arrived and immediately vaulted to my all time favorite electronic device (right past my beloved old and retired Apple Newton). The firmware it arrived with was good but some research at motorolafans.com yielded a better understanding of the Mings potential. Flashing the phone with a newer and modified/customized firmware has made this phone nearly perfect for me. I no loner carry a pda. Meeting notes, mobile websurfing, multi-email accounts, calendar notification and updating, movie watching or mp3 listening, photo or video taking, etc are all well handled by the Ming. There too many freely shared cool apps available to list and more every day.
It also makes calls easily with great clarity and cool interface.
