If you want a true gadget with response this is not the phone for you. If you want an easy to use clear phone/PDA combo with clear calls, this phone is worth checking out.

The learning curve: I am a bit of a PDA wiz these days so this part does not pertain to me. It took me 30 minutes to have this phone just the way I wanted it with all of my contacts, meetings, and notes synced with my 2003 exchange server. It was extremely easy compared to any other phone that I have ever had.

PTT Push to talk service this service is not available with this phone.

Telephone screen operation is delayed. When you select answer it answers immediately but when you hang up it takes a bit before you can make other calls. You can change the delay on the phone but it still holds you up . When entering the programs menu the sluggishness is evident and even more when you decide to cruise the net. This phone was useless for internet browsing. To get from the top of a page to the bottom you might as well put the phone on a firm surface and sit on it. Motorola attempted to add a wheel on the side to assist with the scrolling, unfortunately it does not have a sensitivity setting making it useless.

Setup active sync was very easy I plugged in the unit and it synced up with my address book. I was even able to select some folders on my desktop to back up on my phone without a problem. The sync operation was problematical when I plugged another Q9C into my computer. It automatically started syncing all of my files into someone elses phone.

You can modify the default filling field of your contacts on this phone making your life easier. You ca specify to file your contact first name last if desired. This is a nice change from other phones. In the past you would have to go into outlook and change them manually.

Camera is a typical cell phone picture, it just eats up memory. The quality is good enough to say you attended and that is it. Lots of settings I played with all of them but it did not help the picture quality.

Locking the phone is easy but odd, you have to click on different keys to lock and unlock.

The bump in the back: Most people complain about the battery I did not have a problem with it. The problem for most is that it is a little bit bigger than a curve but that is ok to me.

The key board works well, at first I did not care for it but after using it a week I felt it did and acceptable job.

Web page viewing is fast, it is the scrolling through a page that will put you to sleep.

Bluetooth works effortlessly and wonderfully. If you have never had a bluetooth headset run out and get one, Just keep in mind if you are planning on running with one make sure you get one that wraps around your ear so it does not fall off.

Battery life is adequate I have spoken on my phone all day and it has taken it, so I appreciate the larger battery (bump in the back).

In Conclusion:
The Display is adequate and extremely clear to see. The text size could actually go smaller on this phone. I found the smallest setting to be larger than I wanted it. This reinforces my opinion that this is a seniors smart phone. Extremely easy to use if you are not a geek, Beautiful large display, Large keys and large text. This is not a discriminatory remark it is just truth from experience. I purchased this phone for our over 60 crowed at the office and they were able to use it on day one after I returned the Palm centro and a blackberry pearl because the buttons and screen where to small for them.
