Tons of ice cream

If you like to make ice cream, and like to make more than one batch per day then the "pre freeze" machines are not really up to the task; you need a machine with a compressor.

The "Musso Lussino Dessert Maker 4080" is the best machine I have seen for home use. It's compressor is powerful enough that it really can make the 1.5 qt / 30 min. that it promises. The stainless steel exterior makes it easy to maintain in your kitchen for many years, and unlike some other ice cream makers it churns at just the right speed, fast enough to make great sorbets, but not so fast that you get lumps of butter in your ice cream.

The controls are quite simple, one button turns the churner on or off, one button for the compressor and a timer dial that you can set for up to 60 minutes and functions as a master on/off switch.

The only set backs are that the bowl is an integrated part of the machine, so it has to be washed in place, and that the machine is so heavy that it has to have a fixed place in the kitchen - you can't just store it in a cabinet.

But, all-in-all, I will absolutely recommend it for serious home ice cream maker.
