Pros: Crazy characters, unique setting
Cons: Not a terribly complicated plot
The Bottom Line: It's not your conventional suspense/murder mystery novel, but very entertaining

Review: Writer Carl Hiaasen is an investigative journalist and columnist for the Miami Herald. As such his books have a tendency to be set in Florida, particularly in the Miami area. They are not exactly a series, in that they do not have a recurring main...

Pros: Entertaining characters, funny moments
Cons: Steroids are bad...very bad
The Bottom Line: Native Tongue is a hilarious Florida-based crime novel. Hiaasen sets the tone for Dorsey and Barry's efforts.

Pros: Delightfully Zany
Cons: Carl Hiaasen seems to not have a serious bone in his body.
The Bottom Line: Elmore Leonard is good. So is Christopher Buckly and Joe Klien but nobody tops Carl Hiassen for being OVER THE TOP!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: When it come to satire, Carl Hiaasen, a tongue in cheek editorialist for the Miami Herald is a master. Likewise with his dozen or so improbable novels.

This review is about my personal favorite novel from the amusingly wacky mind of...

Review: I myself did not purchase this book. A friend did. My friend got this book at a used book store read it and thought I would enjoy it, which I did. It has a humorous start that does not fully make sense at first but later on it clicks into place. The...
