Review: Whether they want it or not, writers can say they make it once they are published by the New Yorker, a literary powerhouse. This is not a question of money here. It is rather a matter of literary prestige. Then money may come through your world-wide...

Pros: Great cartoons, good fiction, knowledgeable movie reviews, still-enjoyable Talk of the Town
Cons: Political coverage weaker than in years past
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The New Yorker ain't cheap, but it's a magazine that I come back to again and again. My subscription seldom lapses for long. I preferred the magazine in its pre-Tina Brown days, but it's still one of the best reads on the newsstand. The fiction and...

by  resromine ,  Apr 12, 2000
8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Wide range of issues covered
Cons: Still recovering from Tina Brown
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: After the infamous years under Tina Brown's "editorship" it's nice to see the New Yorker returning to it's traditional roots: good articles. Perhaps the flash is gone, the glitz, the hype, but rest assured the real New Yorker is back.
