Newsweek = Weak News

Date of Review:  Jan 24, 2000
Review: When comparing and choosing between the top three weekly news magazines out there, readers consistently choose Time and US News & World Report over their counterpart Newsweek. Why?

Both Time and US News & World Report have each catered...

Newsweek Magazine: A Quick Review!

Date of Review:  Apr 11, 2000
Review: I have found Newsweek to be an excellent bargain, and a great way for me to get a quick news digest. I subscribe to a number of magazines due in part, to a healthy news addiction developed while working in the news business, but also a belief,...

Good reporting, but be fair and balanced

Date of Review:  Nov 3, 2007
Review: I am a current subscriber, but I have mixed emotions as it pertains to Newsweek s fair and balanced reporting. Especially the article accusing guards at Guantanamo Bay of flushing a Koran down the toilet (Great plumbing!). Unfortunately, it resulted...

Generic but thorough.

Date of Review:  Oct 22, 1999
Review: Newsweek is a pretty good magazine, not perfect but it has a lot of good features to entice the reader, I would definitely recommend Newsweek to the casual news junkie. Now for the more hardcore junkie I think Newsweek lacks a little in it's...

Mediocre

Date of Review:  Oct 21, 2000
Review: Newsweek is a mediocre magazine. The articles are basically the same news snippets that you hear on TV. Unfortunately the Journalism, if you can call it that, isn't very deep. If all you need is to be kept updated on the major events, then I suppose...

Newsweek says it all

Date of Review:  Apr 6, 2000
Review: I have been subscribing to Newsweek for at least 4 years now, and I can say that it hasn't been a waist of money. It isn't the political articles I enjoy most though, it's the medical and scientific research pages that I like to read. For being a...

Guilty Pleasure for News Junkies

Date of Review:  Jan 11, 2008
The Bottom Line: I recommend this to anyone who finds full-length news articles to be too taxing on the mind.
Review: I'm a news junkie. That doesn't mean that I just use news for recreational fun - it means that I gots-ta gots-ta gots-ta have it. But I like my news the way I like my women, hard and dark.

My Personal Preferences
So I've never been a...

The Bastard Stepchild of Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh

Date of Review:  Mar 1, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you want a magazine that caters to the political center, while delivering outstanding news coverage, consider subscribing to this publication.
Review: If Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh could somehow have a baby together, that would be one ugly SOB. This would be like comparing apples and oranges, as it is an impossible feat, that would be more painful than jumping off a building, and landing on a...

"Newsweek: Follow Current Events Here When Cable Television Is Too Expensive..." 462 Pageviews...

Date of Review:  Mar 17, 2007
The Bottom Line: A cost-effective way to stay informed; rivals content of competitors like Time and US News & World Report.
Review: Newsweek is a magazine with a recognizable white on red logo banner, published since 1959. This weekly features dynamic news articles (centered on events and personalities) typically enhanced by charts, computer graphics, illustrations, photography,...
