Nikon Coolpix .... My New Fave Camera

After 10 years of reusing to give up my 35mm Minolta...we moved up to the standard Kodak with docking station and cumbersome cords with confusing uploading info and directions and and ever loving amount of batteries!

I bit the bullet; went to Wal-Mart armed with all the specs for new cameras and my 20 month old son. We were having a REALLY hard time getting good quality photos because of him moving around so much....well after looking and trying and testing on the the tester models the assistant at the photo lab made mention of the CoolPix L11 being 1. on sale and 2. great photos and 3. with a motion sensor!!

I took a few snapshots of my son in the cart and running on the floor and I was SOLD! This camera had it all...quick, easy to use and affordable...I paid $139.98 before taxes.

After I came home and used the camera for the first couple of days...and I'm talking hundreds of photos....this camera takes excellent photos with 7.1 megapixels versus the 3.5 megapixels our Kodak had. I was able to upload with a USB cord or directly from the memory card in the side. The camera is easy to hold, fits my tripod stand and is so light weight but the best feature is "sleep" if not in use it sleeps and the shutter closes so that even if sticky little hands get a hold of it the lenses are protected! I love the huge display and the fact that there is no photo window to look through...I always did have a hard time focusing through the window anyway!

Sometimes the delay between hitting the photo button and displaying the photo are a little long but I have read through the manual and set up the camera for multi-photo shots which has seemed to eliminate most of the wait. And every once in a while before the batteries die the photos get extra grainy...so I try to keep batteries on hand.

This camera really does get my stamp of approval for three most important things to any mom:
1. Always have the camera...it's so light and small it's super easy to slip in my purse!
2. It captures movement...without the blur!
3. The shutter door closes....because kids find a way to touch everything they are'nt supposed to!! Including the camera!
