Great for parents of kids on the move!

The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this camera to any novice photographer wishing to purchase an easy-to-use SLR camera.
I'm in love...with this camera! This is my first SLR camera. We have young kids (ages two and three) who rarely stand still long enough for a picture or smile long enough for me to catch the smile with my point and shoot camera. This camera has more than solved that issue! It even has the rapid-fire capabilities we were looking for. My only issue is that the rapid-fire feature only works with the flash off. But still a pretty great feature! When looking at SLR cameras, my husband and I were looking at the Nikon D40 as well as the Canon Rebel. My mother has the Canon Rebel and, although she really likes it and recommended it, we ended up going with the Nikon D40. The Nikon D40 tends to be a little bit more user friendly than the Canon Rebel, although both are great. They are both similarly priced. The Nikon D40 takes fantastic photos that look great--very clear--even when blown up to large sizes. We have got a few 16 x 20 prints hanging in our stairway that look fabulous! People always comment on my great photography skills, and I truly am a novice photographer. My husband and I always have to give the majority of the credit to the camera :) When buying your first SLR, you will not regret purchasing this camera!
