Indispensable

Since buying the Nikon D-70 in April, 2004 I have used various lenses of various focal lengths. The Nikon Zoom Super Wide Angle AF 12-24 mm has become my favorite. Comparable to a 18-36 mm focal length lens for film usage, the 12-24, when coupled with zoom features of image processing software, gives me incredible range to enlarge-perhaps up to 105 mm before unacceptable quality deterioration. Often, I'll shoot a scene at 12mm (18 mm) and recompose it on the screen with great results. I bought the lens to increase my wide angle capability. The 18-35 (27-52 mm)did not provide enough breadth for many nature and architectural scenes. I love the quality and the depth of field I can achieve with the 12 mm focal length. What do I hate? That the lens is not 10-24 mm.
