Product Review

Great Price&Features

by   swingcarlos ,   Jan 3, 2005

Pros:  Great price. Clear Pics. Easy use. All cables included.

Cons:  Lag time. Noisy video. No case.

The Bottom Line:  Good enough for the average photo buff. Lag time too slow for pros who need lots of frames quickly.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I purchased mine from MarinePark Camera for something like $149(refurbished). I was able to start taking pictures immediately after loading the batteries, which were included.

The camera comes with an internal 16mb(i think) but can take an SD Card. Purchased a 1gb card from Sam's Club for this camera for $71+tax.

The images are quite clear and the colors are more than adequate.

The download to my PC and laptop (both XP) was only a matter of plugging in the USB cord and turning the camera. In comparison, I never got the HP and Kodak cameras I bought previously to work on my Win98 box.

My purchase did NOT come with a case. The Sony Cybershots I have seen come with a nicely fitted case. But for $5 I got me a Body Glove brand case that fits just great.

At first it seemed that my camera was eating batteries. But I was playing around with it for 1/2 hour - On and off, zooming in and out, as played with my new toy. It was only lasting about 1/2 of this "testing". In actual use, I have taken about 85 pics, with flash, with one set of batteries. I could have taken more but I changed batteries before the low battery warnings came on.

If you don't already have, invest in rechargeable batteries and a small charger. You'll save in the long run.

The video mode works. With sound. Though I can hear camera noise on the recording.

The lag time from button press to flash is the worst part of owning this camera. You won't be catching anything that requires immediate quick draw reflexes to catch.

Still, very pleased with my purchase.
