D100 good buy

The Bottom Line: Recommend Nikon D-100. A great camera for all around use and functionality.
My first Digital SLR. Began shooting hundreds of pictures changing various settings learning how to shoot.
I am not as skilled as all the other reviewers however this camera made a lot of sense for me. As I fly small airplanes I get the chance to see a lot of different scenes. This camera has produced many great memories for me and my family. It is very easy to use and repeatable. As to the picture quality I feel I need to take a class to learn the basic ins and outs of photography and utilizing the digital format.
The lens that I chose was the 24 to 85. This has been a great all around lens as it is truly 1.5 times the actual zoom.
If possible look for low f stop lenses as they will produce better photos in low light.
As I have not had the opportunity to add an external flash the on board flash has worked good but I expect it to fall off when I shoot outdoor night football games.
