Author's Review
I was set to buy a Honda Accord, had done all the research and made up my mind- and then I saw the Nissan Altima 2-door sport coupe and my avarice for a Honda vanished.
Our Nissan dealership was phenomenal. They asked us how much we wanted to pay for the car (it's fully loaded!) and we gave them a starting price of 100.00 above dealer invoice. The salesman took the offer to his bosses and we settled in for a long wait. However, he came back not 60 seconds later with a contract- they had accepted the offer with no hard-sale barganing.
It only took them 3 days to find and deliver the exact car we wanted (pearl blue with a cappuccino leather interior) and we left the dealership feeling like a huge weight had been lifted. We'd been treated more than fairly, no one had given us that slimy "used car salesman" vibe, and the finance department even offered us a better interest rate (6%) than our local credit union could.
They have made me a life-long Nissan fan.
The car handles (and looks) like a sports car- tight suspension, tight cornering, quick acceleration- while still getting a consistent 27 MPG. The interior is incredibly comfortable for both my husband (6'2") and myself (6') and we are NOT skinny minnies!
For looks, this car can't be beat by anything except top of the line sports cars- I still haven't seen anything on the road in its class and price range that compares to the body styling and sheer beauty of the Nissan Altima 2-door. This car turns heads and gets people talking. In the 3 months I've owned it, I've been stopped no less than a dozen times by people asking me about the car and I have overheard as many conversations about the vehicle from folks who are just walking past it in parking lots, etc.
The trunk is HUGE.
On the less-than-desirable side, the defrost system takes some getting used to, especially when you live in a humid climate, like we do.
The Bose speakers are great, but distort long before you get to window-shaking volumes.
The seat belts are tucked deep into the seats and can be challenging to click into place.
The windscreen I ordered for my sunroof never arrived (it hasn't been manufactured, yet) but the dealership was willing to refund me the 125.00 I paid for it, so that wasn't a big deal.
