If there's ever an electric razor on your shopping list, this is the one to get. The Philips Norelco Reflex Plus 6863XL is a cordless rechargeable shaver that features contour control and individually floating triple heads to achieve a close, comfortable shave. It comes with a 60 minute recharger that'll hold it's power for up to 45 minutes of use. It also sports a flip up trimmer for mustache, beard, sideburn, and neck trimming. It's backed by Norelco's 2 Years guarantee.
This is the razor that spoiled me and prevents me from completely satisfied with my very good Norelco 7110X. For this face, these ears, and these hands, the 6863XL just has the right feel. It's got a peppy agile sound to the motor and there's the feel of some mass under the hood, but it's the quick effortless shave it gives that's really spoiled me. My 16 year old son received this as a Christmas gift last year. I really hadn't paid too much attention to his acquisition until the microscreen on my little Remington disintegrated. My immediate response after a few seconds with the 6863XL, was "wow" that's fast....I was nearly done as soon as I started. I don't sport the jungle thick stubble a rowdy woodsman like "Gaston" in Beauty of the Beast, but my beard's a lot thicker than my 16 year old son's. By the time I was forced to go scrounging through the house looking for an alternate to my defunct Remington, the 5:00 shadow had several hours of overtime under it's belt, and was offering that Norelco a challenge. I was extremely impressed with the power and speed the 6863XL showed while mowing through the field. No little pinches or pulls, very few "redo's" over those pesky tough spots, and one very smooth shave is what it offers. I was so impressed that I went out and bought what I thought was a comparable 7110x...unfortunately, too little research on my part left me wanting the 6863XL. The 6863 is a bit louder than my 7110, but I'd guess it's due to a more powerful motor. It's still suitably quiet, and is not an annoying sound.
This is definitely "the one". Te 6863XL is a little more expensive than some of the bargain razors, but offers real value in the truest sense, and a very high satisfaction level. Not that I've tried every model, but it's hard for me to imagine a better experience with an electric razor.
