Great for movie popcorn
Date of Review: Feb 23, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you like movie popcorn it is a good buy, if you can get it assembled. I would have rated ease of use higher if not for the assembly problems.
The CCP-510 makes great movie popcorn! The problem was getting the stand assembled. I started with looking at the instructions provided and what a joke that was. On the first page it lists the various nuts bolts and washers by part number and not the size of the part. There are also parts listed that are not included nor are they needed but this does add to the confusion when trying to figure things out. On the next page where the steps are to put the machine together it then will state the nuts, bolts, and screws by size. However you get to figure that one out since the small bolts & screws are close in size and you can't tell what is what by the list on the first page. The diagrams are also very small so they are of no use as well. I looked at the pictures on the box for help but that too did not match my machine 100% must have been an earlier model.
After some time of reasoning I did manage to get the machine together. It was like doing a jigsaw puzzle without the picture. I believe if you are mechanically inclined you can put this together.
Now for the real test. The popcorn that this machine makes is just like that at the movies. The gears on the kettle do no bind and operation is smooth. The light on the model we have seems to keep the popcorn slightly warm. Cleaning was not an issue. I had no sharp edges as reported by others but maybe the manufacturer has resolved that problem. The kettle is easy to remove for cleaning.
I would recommend this item for the popcorn lover, the only problem is putting it together.
