A decent starter cup

These are the first sippy cups we tried with my son when he was around 7-8 months old. I loved that they were very inexpensive at walmart and I had heard good things about them. The soft spout made it easy to transition from a bottle to the sippy cup. Also, he could easily hold the cup by himself because of it's shape. These do a surprisingly good job of not leaking, considering there are no valves on this cup. The only drawback I found initially was that he finished it much quicker than he did from a bottle (probably due to the lack of valves), which would leave him very disappointed when it was all gone. It was also frustrating for me, because a lot of times as a mom you need something to comfort your child when you are out somewhere and ordinarily when a bottle would buy me 10-15 minutes of happy time, this sippy would be empty of it's contents in 3 minutes flat.
Also, I felt that as he got older, it was still to much like a bottle and he needed to get used to something more like a regular sippy, so we switched to gerber cups at 1 year. These were a good way to transition though. I purchased several more of them than I even needed, because they were so inexpensive, to save for our next baby when we try to transition her from the bottle to a cup.
