Can't be used for dictation

I bought this recorder to replace my Sony ICD-ST25 digital recorder b/c the DS-2 had a docking station. However, it is basically only a tape recorder. It is useless for dictation. You can't "record on the fly." Which if you dictate heavily, is next to impossible not to do with all the interruptions most busy professionals have throughout the day. I feel really stupid b/c I convinced the other attorneys in my office to go digital and they bought the DS-2. The bulky dictaphone works better that this thing. Technical support was no help at all. They argued with me about whether or not that was feature you even needed for dictation and told me returning the product was not there problem. They suggested I try to sell it on E-bay.I will never buy another Olympus product again.
