Move over Bruce Lee! Yes I said it...

by   doug_wize ,   Nov 16, 2005

Pros:  The best Kung-fu and stunt choreography since Bruce Lee.

Cons:  none really

The Bottom Line:  Highly recommend this movie!

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

The story-line and plot of the movie was mediocre to most critics but to me, it was good. What made it good was the opening scene where it shows the tribe of Ting, a Thailand country boy, in a contest to retrieve a flag at the top of this colossal tree. That scene was extreme but prepared you for the extraordinary fighting and acrobatic skills of Ting played by Tony Jaa. The movie was exactly what a Kung-fu/action movie should be; full of endless fighting. After you see the phenomenal skills of Tony Jaa, you'll be at the mercy of the rest of the movie. Ong Bak The Thai Warrior kept me glued to the screen wanting to see more and more of Tony Jaa's Kung-fu. The only description that I can compare him to is from the video game "Street Fighter" the style was almost identical to "Sagat" the Thai kick-boxer who was arch-rival of Ryu, according to the video game's plot. I could careless what the story was about, even though, the script itself was pretty-good. Tony Jaa steals the show with breath taking stunts and excellent Kung-fu skills. Tony Jaa is a Kung-fu Master! and not a bad actor. This is a must see by any Kung-fu movie goer.
