Top Notch DVD Upscale/CD/SACD Player!!!

Probably one of the better upscale DVD player on the market with SACD capabilities as well! Spent alot of time looking for something to replace my 12 yr. old 2 channel stereo DVD Player. After reading many product reviews, OPPO players had probably more and the most positive reviews of many models! I settled on the OPPO DV-980H and it was a good choice! Maybe a little pricer then others, but you get what you pay for most times and OPPO is no exception. This is a quality piece of electronics.

This unit can be set up for 5.1 or 7.1 surround via HDMI or RCA Patch Cables hookups. It can be programed for 2 channel operation, DTS and CD/SACD. Also has hookup for optical cable and digital cable. The back of this unit is loaded with hookups!  This unit has a lot of programing options to fit your needs as well. Has an extensive instruction booklet and really suggest reading it before operating uint!

I have mine connected to a Yamaha HTR 5930 for 5.1 with RCA patch cables and it performs flawlessly. Rich, bright and detailed sound that makes my Sony carousel player seem a bit ....well not quite as nice!
SACD's are a treat to listen to, if your have never listened to them. This unit brings out the best in them as well as normal CD's! Same goes for DVD soundtrracks...excellent if not superb in 5.1 or DTS surround sound!

On the video side of things my unit is hooked up to a Sanyo standard 27" flat screen 480i and it has a great picture. It can be programmed up to 1080i/p screens. Those who have used this player for upscale to HDMI say that love it as well and some compare quality as close to Blu Ray. OPPO is also coming out with a Blu Ray Player that will support DVD as well. 

The front readout is  very nice with a pleasent to the eye medium blue and a remote contol that turns the unit off/on(nice)! and is easy to use. Nice on screen graphics for progamming and set up, plus some other little goodies. The 980H is a pleasent surpirse and am quite pleased with this purchase. Good Customer Supprort as well!

Player come encased in a snug fit black cloth bag with large sliver OPPO logo on top with velcro latch flap. Its placed in a custom snug fit box with foam protecting the unit. Quite a few other electronic's manufactur's could learn a lesson from this company on how to package! Very Very Nice! Purchased mine from Aamzon.Com for $169.00 and free S&H!! Excellent!!!!
