Dear ATC-2K users,
Thank you for your reviews and comments on our product they are extremely valuable to us. We would like to answer a few of your questions and give some more specifics about the ATC-2K action camera through this statement.
Contrary to a previous statement posted on the Internet, the ATC-2K does not work with a 4GB SD card. Please use a 2GB SD (FAT 16) card, the internal camera memory and SD card memory combined should allow just over 1 hour recording time. However, when the SD card is inserted the internal memory will be disabled. We recommend SanDisk and SanDisk Ultra II SD cards.
For playback on TV the U.K. version only does it in PAL and likewise, the U.S. version in NTSC. For playback on PC the ATC-2K, at the moment, is not compatible with the Apple Mac. The Mac will read that the folder is a COACH folder but will show the folder to be empty even if video clips are present. Non-Mac computers should be able to read the card when it is directly inserted into the computer or inserted into a USB card reader in addition to using the USB camera plug in option.
When the camera is mounted on your helmet and you want to turn it on/off without taking it off, we recommend familiarizing yourself with where each button is situated and which beeping noise it makes when each button is pressed.
The camera is currently only available for purchase in the U.S.A., U.K., and Australia. This should extend to Germany, Italy, France and Spain in a few months time.
To clarify contradicting instructions shown on our website and manual, the ATC-2K action camera is waterproof up to 3 metres/10ft. However, please follow ensure the screw cap is firmly on the back of the camera and the O-rings and silicon grease have been correctly applied. Oregon Scientific will not assume any responsibility for the malfunction of the camera caused by water getting inside as a result of misuse by the user.
The ATC-2K action camera is intended for use with extreme sports. For this reason we have put more emphasis on developing the video capture as opposed to the audio quality.
We are currently developing a heat pouch for ATC-2K camera use in cold weather. Please check our website for updates on its availability. We also advise that users change to Energizer e2 Lithium batteries during cold weather usage for longer recording time.
