I am returning the Ostler 5838 ExpressBake Bread Machine

It was impossible to remove the bread pan from the machine without using a screwdriver to pry it out on both sides. I used a recipe I have used before in another machine, and the bread was inedible. The machine was set on the recommended medium for crust color, and the entire outside of the loaf ended up being burned. The bread was not done in the middle. This machine must be defective, and I will not buy another one like it.

I should have put the bread machine back into the box after all the problems I had getting the pan out of the machine. I'm stubborn and decided to continue with making the bread. Big mistake.

I used a honey bread recipe I very successfully made two days prior using the very same ingredients I had just used. After again using a screwdriver to pry the pan from side grips holding it in the machine and dumping out the bread, a very large knife was required to even cut the bread. Then crust broke into many pieces when the knife passed through it. The middle of the bread had a very strange texture, and it was totally inedible. I knew there was a problem when it started to bake because it did not look the way it should have looked. I just let it continue to bake to see what would happen. Not good!!!

Fortunately, I saved the box and the packing so it could be returned.
