Different Look For The Shining Series

The Shining series has varied throughout the year, as a dungeon crawler, a strategy RPG, an action RPG, and now, another action RPG, but in a more cute way. The first thing you will notice, is that all the characters are small, and chibi like. This is rare for an Action RPG game, and will probably throw a lot of people off at first. But it's very easy to get used to, once you start hacking away at the small little chibi enemies; which varies from slimes, to wolves, to knights, to hawk people, and many others.

The best apart about this game, is that the enemy groups are just enormous. You could easily be fighting a 100 enemies on screen. 100 tiny little knights, who want nothing more than to kill you. It's not that easy for them though. They'll soon find out that just you and your partner can easily slaughter 300 enemies in a level with ease. You'll get several different partners throughout the game, all which can be used whenever you want. Only two can go into battle though, so you have to balance them correctly. You can battle all these enemies yourself, with your partner AI, or..you can hook up another controller and have your friend battle alongside you.

There's yet another addition, and that's the use of magic mirrors you get at a certain point in the game. These allow you to visit battles you already took part in, and do them again; for extra experience and gold. Plus, you can put in another memory card and bring another person's character into the mirror with you, and enjoy it with a friend. The game has many different attacks and skills as well, all which can be upgraded when you level up. There's team skills as well, that you initiate with your partner. It's all good fun in Shining Tears.
