excellent sub for the audiophile on a budget

upon unpacking the polk psw10, the word "quality" strikes you. everything about it is quality. the design is compact, understated and elegant. the cabinet and electrical interface are rock-solid in construction.
the sound reproduction of the psw10 is crisp and clean, throughout the response range. not only does it give excellent, tactile lows but it offers lower mid-range support with good separation and brilliance for those centers that might be lacking - just tweak the crossover until your ears smile.
one should be mindful that the psw10's 50 watts rms (average, rather than peak measurement) in the lower end of the human auditory range does not make a lot of NOISE. do not pick sub this for your 200 watt x 7.1 home theater system. it wasn't designed for that. this sub is ideally suited for a compact home av or shelf system where audio precision is the mandate.
