We purchased this from Target on sale for $50.00. This particular cooker is bigger than it looks. We have cooked the boxes of flavored rice in this cooker and it turned out just as perfect as you can get it.
This cooker is white in color, with a clear lid, and there is a so called non-stick pot inside of it. It also comes with a plastic ladle to mix it with. We don't really use it for that but, that is what it is there for.
It is basically easy to use. Make sure it is not plugged in before you get started. You can either measure the desired amount of rice or do what we did and that is buy the flavored rice and just pour the box right in the pot. then add the right amount of water and seasoning. Then set the inner pot in the cooker, making sure that the inner pot makes contact with the heating plate in the center. Do this by rotating from right to left so that it will seat properly. Then cover with the lid, do not operate this appliance without the lid. Then plug it into a regular outlet and then depress the switch in the front center. The light should illuminate red. If not check your power supply. You might want to mix the rice a little with all the seasoning and water. Approximately 15 to 18 minutes later the rice should be done and the yellow warm light should turn on. You have to turn this appliance off because it will stay until you unplug it. It does not have an automatic shut off.
I think that because it sits so long and does not get stirred some of the rice is burnt at the bottom and will stick to the pot. But, all you have to do is let is soak for about 10 minutes before you wash it and it comes right out.
If you would like to just reheat your rice just add about 1/4 cup of water and put it in the cooker and when it is done the warm light should go on.
To clean your new cooker make sure you do not immerse the bottom portion of the appliance in water. The only parts you can use in water are the lid, spoon, and pot. I have put these in the dishwasher and they survived fine. Do not get the inner plate and thermostat wet they might short out and will not work the next time that you want to use them. Basically there are no serviceable parts on this unit. You will have to use the warranty if you want to have this repaired.
The times that we have used this it did a wonderful job. It frees up your hands so that you can make the rest of your dinner. Just throw everything in the pot and plug it in and then a little later it is done. You can even just remove the pot and set it on a hot plate, and set it in the center of the table and serve it right out of the pot. This works real well for people on the go.
As usual not much of a warranty. It is a hit or miss proposition when it comes to the warranty. You take your chances with any warranty.
