good hardware bad software

I bought the pinnacle usb2 two weeks ago. I must say i'm satisfied with the quality of the screen, and the quality of recorded files. I must say i did not use the software that came with the hardware. Instead i use showshifter which is much better, and has much more options. For example you can record in divx5 pro, wmv etc. . To record in Mpeg 2 with pinnacle you have to pay 5 dollars for the activation code, that's just greedy.
Anyway, hardware 10, software ZERO.
