Author's Review

While I can't say I know much about video editing, I do know that I need to convert lots of old VHS and other format material to digital format for inclusion in professional training workshops that I develop. I read the professional reviews of the various offerings and decided to try the Plextor unit. There's lots of software around and I had several already and each interfaced with the Plextor unit without a hitch. If the software that it ships with is not your cup-of-tea then try several of the free or very low cost options.
I was up and reviewing VHS tapes in 20 minutes. The capture and edit went without a hitch and I incorporated 10sec to 4 minute video into the training presentations without much of a learning curve at all.
It's easy to use and the quality was great for use in my powerpoint material.
