Author's Review
I've had my Polar F6 Heart rate monitor for two months now. I disagree with some reviews that the watch is ugly. I've gotten compliments on mine. (green) I admit it is not meant to be worn to a formal event, but why would you want to? It is what it is..a heart rate monitor to be worn while exercising, though it is attractive enough to wear out and about. It has a large display which is easy to read.
It takes awhile to operate all of the functions and find the information you are looking for. I'm not sure I know how to operate all of the functions yet or know what the functions are. The first step is to go into settings and enter all of your personal information such as birthdate; weight and height. Once that is done you can set your target heart rates from low to high.
In exercise mode, you can monitor your heartrate, time of workout, calories burned and percentage of fat burned. I also disagree with one review that the chest strap that comes with the watch is uncomfortable. I have worn the strap for the entire day without being uncomfortable in any way. Wearing it all day showed calories burned at 4,000. I am not certain it is accurate, but, I have no other way of determining my calories burned and it is supposed to be quite accurate so who am I to argue. It can also be worn while swimming as it is waterproof. I have heard great things about the Polar F11 monitor as well, but, for me, I don't think I need all the extra bells and whistles. However, with the F11 you can change the batteries yourself, with the F6 it must be sent in to the Polar manufacturer. Maybe it can be taken to a jeweler, not sure about that. If you want a good heart rate monitor that shows your heart rate plus calories burned, fat percentage burned, time, timer, Duration of work out, Daily and Weekly totals, The Polar F6 delivers and it may be just the watch/monitor you are looking for.
