Worth Its Salt!

You know a popcorn popper is good when you buy it already pretty "well seasoned" at a garage sale and years later it's still popping along! I bought our Presto Popper, then called a "PopCornNowPlus" for $1 at a yard sale when my second child was a baby- back in 1993. Years later, that child is now in 2nd grade, and we still enjoy popcorn from the same machine. That's a whopping investment of 14 cents a year- my kind of deal!

We've literally saved hundreds of dollars on microwave popcorn- who needs it? I simply buy a huge container of popcorn at Sam's (for perhaps $6?) and we're set for 5 years of weekly movie nights at our house. If only the movies were as cheap as the popcorn!

It's healthier to eat air popped popcorn anyhow, and if you don't like it so dry, simply spray with a little cooking spray and sprinkle on some seasonings. We've had popcorn a thousand different ways at our house with a fun, out of print recipe book called "The Popcorn Lover's Cookbook".

I recently came across another Presto Popper at a Goodwill store for $3, and realized that even though that's a great price, I didn't need to buy it- our first one is still going strong. And although the name has changed, it's still the same machine. I love my Presto Popper!
