Author's Review
Ok so if your like me, you put "bathtub" on your baby registry without giving it too much thought. Well we did that and the tub we got was usable but definently not ideal. It had one of those slings that clips into it that has a pad in it that of course is harder than heck to dry out. In addition it got a little moldy and that infuriated me. I looked online, to epinions.com, which is my rock of informed decisions and decided to try out the Primo Euro bath. Oh my god I am so happy I did. Read on to find out why!
Now onto the review!
Safety: A
Safety has to be the most important category in any baby product, especially a bathtub. Important to note NEVER leave your child in this tub or any tub unattended. I worked at a ER for years and have to plug child safety.
The Euro Bath's genius for safety is in its simplicity. There is no sling or pad to install or foam section designed to keep your baby from sliding around. No there is only the molded plastic. How is this effective you ask? Well the modled plastic is in the perfect shape for your baby.
At stage 1 it has a crotch bar that your baby is layed down in front of, then on the sides are two positioning bars. I say bars but they are more like columns. These three bars keep your baby solidly placed while lying down on their back.
At stage 2 or sitting stage, your baby simply sits in the same spot as these three bars, the genius then comes out even more because these three bars are things to help keep your baby balanced.
At stage 3 your baby is sitting and doesn't need these bars or is a bit too big for the space inbetween the bars, the area inbehind the bars is where you now put your baby, it keeps your baby in a enclosed area that they can easily use the sides of the tub to keep them balanced.
The only reason I don't give this a A+ is that the plastic can get a little slipery, so you must give close supervision especially when your baby is new to stage 2 from stage 1.
Comfort: A+
Take away the pads, the slings and such and your left with a perfect shape for your baby. Not only is my baby ecstatic when she sees me putting the Euro Tub into our main bathtub but in fact she hated the old bathtub, I think she felt like she couldn't move at all in it. Because she loves the euro bath I love the euro bath.
Ease of Use: A
As previously stated in the safety section, the euro bath is designed for safety and for simplicity. Because of the simplicity it is very easy to use. Placing your baby is very easy and emptying the water after use is easy too. If your placing it in a normal tub, you simply upturn it dumping the water, but if you are placing it on a counter next to a sink, it has a drain tube that extends about 8 inches, this tube is attached to the base and to the upper portion of the base when not in use, to drain you simply detach it from the upper part and gravity forces the water out through the tube.
The only drawback to the euro bath is that it is big, so if you have very little room you might not be the perfect owner for the eurobath. It would be a shame to pass up the perfect tub just because you wanted to save a few inches of space.
Durability: A+
We have had our tub about six months, and to tell you the truth it looks the exact same as it did when it was brand new. Being made totally out of heavy molded plastic it tends not to fall apart :) and because it is designed so that no mold grows on it, simply because it will dry quickly, you will not have to replace it until you are done having kids. Probably the most durable baby bathtub available.
Cleaning: A+
Remember that genius is in its simplicity statement? Well it goes double for cleaning. Almost every other tub on the market has some kind of foam or non stick type rubber surface that is a pain in the behind to clean, well the eurotub being made out of plastic has none of those problems, just simply spray some disinfectant on a rag and wipe it down. Wash it out and your done. Couldn't be easier and that is for cleaning, and trust me, you won't have to clean it much because it dries completely very quickly after being used thus reducing most if any at all mold. Easiest to clean baby tub on the market.
Value: A+
I think I paid about $30 but it might have been $40, but bottom line, this tub is worth $100 for what you get. Your getting 3 tubes in 1, and the best designed tub on the market. Your a fool if you put its price above the other categories, especially because other tubs on the market are comprable in price.
CONCLUSION
Quite simply this is the kind of product I enjoy writing reviews for the most. Perfect in all the categories that really matter, the only flaws are unavoidable because they want to stress the important categories.
You aren't going to find a better bath tub for your child.
I highly Recommend the Primo Euro Bathtub.
