This is a great short movie featuring Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Princess Jasmine from Aladdin.
The first tale is about Princess Aurora. Her father, King Stefan and the family leave for a Royal Conference and she is left in charge of the castle. The good fairies try to offer their assistance to the already overwhelmed Aurora, but she refuses.
In the first scene is where she sings the famous song Keys to the Kingdom.
Suddenly she realizes that her father left his very important speech that he was going to give at the conference and she needs the good fairies to fly it to him immediately. One of the fairies, Merriweather anticipates that Aurora might need some help and sneaks her magic wand off to Aurora. Princess Aurora tries very hard not to give in and to persist and not use magic.
That night, she cant help herself but try the wand out. Well, it works and she has some fun changing her clothes. In the morning she had to get through an entire long line of residents of the kingdom who had problems and she was supposed to solve them. About halfway through the line she has already become stressed and tired and ready to quit.
Then comes a resident who needs new chickens and pigs. She uses her wand and what a mess this turns into! She turns the farmer into a chicken and suddenly the room is filled with cows. The farmer has only room for two cows and she makes everyone else in line very happy by giving away all the cows she magically conjured up.
She discovers that she can do things for herself without magic and that she can always come up with a good solution to anything that comes up.
The second short tale is about Princess Jasmine. Jasmines duties include posing for pictures and shop openings. She wants more meaning in her life, more responsibility. So her father gives her the position of Royal Assistant Educator. In this scene, there is the song Peacock Princess since she just got finished posing for a painting by that title.
Her first day is overwhelming and exhausting and she feels that she has no control over the position and that she has failed miserably. Sahara the horse is missing the next day and Jasmine promises to find it.
She perseveres and finds Sahara and returns him safely and she tries out her teaching abilities once again.
These are two wonderful short tales about two of your childs favorite princesses and there are lessons to be learned.
The songs are beautifully sung, maybe a bit drawn out too long. The color is amazing and beautiful and bright. It really captures by four year olds attention.
This film was released in 2007 and is a little over an hour long.
It is available for rental at Blockbuster or Netflix and available for purchase at Amazon for $17.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OLGCHU/ref=s9_asin_title_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0VZNSDEB0TX7VG1417Q9&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=320448601&pf_rd_i=507846
