Author's Review
What a great find this alarm clock turned out to be! I was looking for a clock with a less harsh alarm tone, and this one provided not only that, but also an automatically-increasing volume function. Here are the other features I love:
- Large numbers in a soothing blue color
- Ambient light sensor/dimmer which works perfectly
- Upright, yet stable, design
- Two alarm settings
- Indicators that show which alarm is set. These are separated by the numbers (one on the left side of the display, the other on the right) so it's easy to tell at a glance.
- Icons that show whether it's set for the alarm tone or the music
- Crystal-clear radio reception -- the best I've ever heard on a clock radio
- Digital radio station tuning (i.e., you can see exactly what frequency you're on, e.g., 89.1 FM, 89.2, etc.)
- An MP3 jack that works with iPods and iPhones
- No stupid little cord protruding from the back to pick up your radio signal!
- The display includes AM *and* PM indicators which are separated, one at the top and one at the bottom, so it's easy to distinguish when you're setting the alarm.
- FORWARD AND BACK BUTTONS FOR SETTING THE TIME. I had never seen this before -- how annoying is it to be trying to set the alarm, and you accidently pass the number you were trying to hit! Then you have to go all the way back "around the clock" to get to it again. Not with this model; you can just hit the back button.
- YOU CAN SET YOUR OWN SNOOZE TIME. Again, something I'd never seen before. I like the standard 9-minute snooze, but I love being able to set my own.
- A "nap" feature, with which you can hit one button and get a set interval of time before the alarm goes off. And by "set," I mean you can set it yourself. Default is 20 minutes, the perfect length of time for a nap.
- Snooze button is prominently placed and easy to press.
- Off button is less easy to find and press, as it should be, but it's a button rather than a switch that you have to move to the exact correct position, which usually requires two hands.
- Turning both alarms on and off is also a button, which makes it easy to set the alarm at night when you're sleepy.
- Battery back-up
