GE 27851 2.4 GHz Cordless Telephone Answering System Meets My Needs!

I NEEDED A NEW PHONE

So I was browsing the phones at the local Walmart. I only had few requirements:

* It has to be cordless and work inside my house
* I want an answering machine
* Speed dial for few numbers would be nice
* I'm not ready to pay too much!

This GE set was the cheapest one that I found with all these options. To me it seemed like the best buy for the money, only $20, the next one offered more room for storing numbers but frankly 10 numbers for the speed dial is more than I will need, I'd never use 35!

The phone itself is little bulkier than some sleeker designs but still quite light to hold. My young children have no problems holding it.


SO I GET IT HOME

I get the pieces out and there is big reminders about adding the battery inside the phone. Very easy to do with clear instructions. I find the instructions clear and simple and setting the phone up is a snap. It even gives you voice instructions on the digital answering machine to make this simple for everyone. the default language is English but you can change it to French or Spanish if wanted.

This phone also has the caller ID features, again very easy to set up. The default ringtone was too quiet for me but quickly I found in the manual that I have two louder options to choose from. Basic volume adjustment is also very handy on the phone if you need to hear better.

I had some concerns about 2.4 GHz some other had more but so far in my first week I've had no problem. I can be anywhere in my house or even on my yard and I've not experienced any static as of yet.

This phone has wall mount option also which is nice. The Answering System does not take much room in the table and I can hear all the messages very clear. I liked that I can even page the phone from the page if I do not know where it is.. The buttons are big enough and easy to dial.

If I prefer I can shut the ringer off and machine will pick up. I can even check my messages from the other phone after dialing my security code! What more could I ask for $20?

UPDATE AFTER ONE MONTH OF USE

I wish I could make the ringing sound louder, if you are not close by or are listening music in an other room you will have hard time hearing it. Yesterday when I was trying to press one after reaching a customer service it did not recognise the number. I tried for another number with a menu and the same thing happened. I don't know why and it is very annoying.
