Darkhorse of electrics

After trying out several different electric shavers: 2 Remington rotaries, Panasonic Arc Nano, and a Norelco arcitec, I have decided on the MS-280 as my #1 electric shaver. This may not be one of the most expensive razors, but it shaves very, very close-- for some too close. The pop-up trimmer helps cut down the stubborn hairs that other shavers cannot get. The resulting shave is as close as any shave I was getting with a single blade (DE) shave, and because the long hairs get cut immediately by the trimmer, I do less passes and get no irritation. The shaver provides good audio feedback when it is mowing down hairs.

Make sure to only use a light touch with this razor, or else you can irritate your skin. Also experiment with before and after washing your face/showering.

There are some cons to this shaver: 1) charge time - this one takes quite awhile to charge up, which can be inconvenient if you forget to charge and the battery runs out. 2) if you run into an issue with the battery, you cannot use this one corded. 3) there is no low battery indicator. 4) no quick charge feature. 5) slightly loud for my liking.

I would recommend upgrading to the MS2-370 or even the MS-5200 if the battery may be a concern. I do not think either of these two shavers actually perform better than the MS-280 though.

I have tried all of the top-of-the line shavers, and this little Remington has consistently outperformed all the $200 shavers for me. I hope Remington does not stop using this technology. If you are experimenting with electrics, or looking to try something different, I would say you owe it to yourself to try this one out.
