Author's Review
My husband and I bought the Sherpani Rumba for hiking, backpacking and general walks or errands around town with our son. Once our son was able to sit comfortably on his own, my husband and I started taking him on day hikes in the carrier. After nearly a year of use, we highly recommend the Rumba to anyone looking to buy a child carrier.
The comfort for both the adult and the child is unbeatable. The well-designed padded child seat compartment offers excellent safety and support with the 5-point buckle harness system, and is easily adjustable as the child grows. Getting your child in and out of the seat is quick and simple; once you make your initial adjustments, youll only need to buckle the shoulder straps. There are also elastic toy loops, which are great for attaching your childs toys.
The suspension support system for the adult is comparable to wearing your favorite backpack; the Rumba is ultra-comfortable, easily adjustable and carries the childs load evenly. With Sherpanis Backtrack On-The-Fly suspension system, you are able to make adjustments so the pack fits perfectly for each user. This is ideal if you have several users wearing the pack, who have different torso lengths.
The sturdy but unobtrusive stand makes loading the carrier on and off alone very easy and safe. Hand loops also help load and unload the pack without bouncing our son. The sunshade and rain-cover, which are included, offers great protection, and easily stows away in the extra-large storage area; still leaving ample storage space for necessary items such as diapers, snacks, and extra clothing.
Our son loves to ride (and nap!) in the Rumba; going for hikes is something he looks forward to. Thanks to the Rumba, we have had many great family hikes in our sons first year.
