Looks great. But a nightmare to run.

Samsung is a great name, mom always loved the brand and after the experience with a Lite-On, I went specifically for a high rated Samsung.  Alas it was high rated at the time.  And at the time no ratings here.  That was a mistake.  Nothing but misery with this item.  At least it upconverts to my parents 32 inch Sanyo (walmart brand type). 

Samsung support is non existent.  It's like they refuse to acknowledge this model even exists.  Parents have a Blu Ray player form Samsung and they have a monthly firmware update for that one.  But Nothing for this model.  And it would seem we aren't the only one's with problems.

Two main complaints.  Fan runs 24/7 365 days a year.  and sometimes it fails to stop recording.  Only Rec Pause stops it in pause, but can't do anything except change channels  So say you hit record and after 30 minutes you hit stop.  Nothing.  Won't stop.  We're at 4 hours right now and I assume it'll record to the end.  Sometimes randomly finalizes and sometimes during playback, it randomly stops.

I've tried twice to send email to Samsung support and have never recieved a reply.  This is no firmware update ever for this product and wouldn't be surprised if someday there's a class action lawsuit against them.  We love the remote, but this was such a rushed product.  Feel sorry for those spending on the full price.
