EXCELLENT value

The Bottom Line: Buy it.
The contrast resolution is great on this tv, as is the backlighting. The surface is nonreflective of any ambient lighting. It's near our chandelier and on the opposite wall of a huge mirror, yet there is no glare. This amazes us to no end!
It's also an attractive tv. It would look good with anything from traditional to contemporary decor. It's simple and sleek.
The tv fits nicely into an armoire. We were having trouble finding a flat screen that would fit into our armoire and not look awkward. Because of the armoire, we went with the 40" screen, which was smaller than we initially wanted ...but now that we have it in our living room we would definitely not want to go bigger..it's just the right size.
The only downside is 60hz refresh rate as opposed to 120hz ... which is no biggie. We've been extremely happy with what we got for the money. It has even made playing Nintendo Wii more fun!
We're also not too impressed with the sound. Luckily, we purchased a home theatre surround sound system that day. When it is off you can really notice how tinny and flat the sound from the tv is.
