The Samsung BD-P2500 with Netflix is simply great after updates

The Bottom Line: Once you have the Samsung BD-P2500 updated, it works great on blu-ray and DVD, and streams Netflix with ease.
Review: I was recently given the Samsung BD-P2500 blu ray player for Christmas by my dad. I had talked about it with him earlier and was quite surprised to see it show up via UPS. I couldn't wait to get it going.

The 2500 is not a very good player...

Cool Netflix and Blu-Ray Capabilities

The Bottom Line: A great Blu-Ray player for both standard and Blu-Ray discs; very cool Netflix capability. Slow response times, with occasional lock-ups leave room for improvement.
Review: The Netflix-ready capability of this player is a big reason we got it, and we're not disappointed. The Netflix streaming feature is very easy to use and the video performance is fantastic (much better than with our high-end PC, for some reason)...

Too bad Samsung doesn't care if it works!

The Bottom Line: Company attitude is that customers don't count. Known firmwware problems not fixed. Don't reward a callous attitude. Hardware reliability is worthless without reliable firmware.
