Terrible

We purchased this product to replace a similar one of another brand. This was a poor purchase. This product has been nothing but problems. First I purchsed it for the HDMI up convert however when I hooked it to my HDTV the video quality was inferior compared to the component connection. I use high quality cables too. The next thing this product does is very often it loses time. For example it could be 1pm and it changes itself to 5am and will change the date by years from 2007 to 2003. The unit squeaks when it spins the disk. It will rarely plan childrens dvd's and I have no idea why those in particular. Everything from Disney, Dreamworks, and others have no chance of being played. Frequently it does not want to eject when you want it too. I contacted tech support via e-mail at first and it took them over a month to return my inquiry just to tell me I need more assistance and need to call. When I called I was on hold for 45 minutes waiting for someone at an obvious outsource location that did not speak clear english. Then end result was they could not help me. Customer service was seriously lacking, the player has continued to get worse. I am waiting for smoke to emit from it any day now.
