Excellent printer, but one major defect

This NETWORKABLE (for Mac & PC's) $100 (after rebate) B & W Laser Printer produces copies at about 3,000 sheets for $50 cartridge. Resolution 1200 x 1200 and an amazing 20-25 B & W text sheets per minute. My first unit was defective in that the Ethernet section did not "wake up" from the energy saving mode, so the printer had to be power-cycled to print again. Exchanged the until for another 2571N and all was fine.... until after one week. SAMSUNG is now aware of this defect because of my phone call to them and SAMSUNG hopes within four months to have a software patch modifying the ROMs. (The IP of the printer is pingable at all times).

Excellent paper loading and handling.

The documentation sucks. The difficult part, such as setting up the printer to a fixed IP, is poorly documented and cannot be done from a Mac. One must use a PC and the "SetIP" program on one of the two installation disks and change to IP, subnet, and gateway. It now works fine from my Macs and PC's over the network. Haven't tried the direct USB port.
