Buy Evan Almighty or Ratatouille Instead...do NOT buy this movie!
Pros:
Still trying to find one.
Cons:
$25 and 90+ minutes lost forever. Sigh, what a waste.
The Bottom Line:
Final recommendation? Evan Almighty, Ratatouille, or Transformers were 10 times better. Do not waste your money on this! For a holiday movie for kids, get the Muppet Christmas Carol.

Ok, I am smart enough to admit when I've made a mistake, and boy was this a big one! Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause came out on dvd today...(really?, I looked forward to this?) In my defense, I honestly thought that it might be a good movie (I feel so naive). Not only did I pay money to for this dvd, I actually bought it on Blu-Ray! I'm hoping that this was just a bad dream and I will wake up with my $25 and 90+ minutes back, but I'm thinking that this is just not going to happen. : (
I loved the first Santa Clause movie, even liked the second one (not as good, but I would watch it again during the holiday season). This one? Well, you could get the same effect of watching this movie if you take a couple of sleeping pills and wash them down with liquid benedryl. The plot was very predictive, and there was NO intelligent humor at all. I could see 5 year olds liking the movie (after they wake up from the nap they took 15 minutes into it...but don't worry, they didn't miss anything for the hour they were out).
I will try to say as little as possible to ruin the so-called-plot (which after watching the movie, I am still looking for - perhaps it was located in the credits), but I would like to give you some idea on what you are purchasing if you aspire to lose money and time like I did.
The premise is that Jack Frost wants to take over being Santa, while Santa is distracted by his wife being pregnant and bringing both of their families to the North Pole. Sorry folks, that's the best description of the plot that I am able to come up with. Actually sounds good when you look at it that way. But don't you worry - it's not.
Having never been a fan of Martin Short's character acting, this movie has a ton of it...the some-what slapstick, kind of Jim Carey acting that is both boring and annoying at the same time. I found nothing interesting in his character. It lacked any depth at all. The other actors weren't really any better, but considering the script (am I am using that term loosely)that they had to work with, I'm not sure how much blame can be placed on them.
I am a HUGE fan of holiday movies, but I do not see myself EVER watching this movie again. If my youngest daughter wants to watch this movie again, I may have to punish her for her own protection. I believe that it's my job as her parent to protect her from coma-inducing movies.
