Author's Review
When I first saw the XB, I thought "wow, what an ugly car.. who would drive that thing?". Then, I got in one, and answered my own question, which was, "smart folks, that's who".
I was shopping for a car and had test driven the Toyota Rav 4, (couldn't see out the back window- seatbelt dug into my neck), the Honda CRV (too expensive, cheesy interior parts) and the Chrystler PT Cruiser Convertible. (again, could not see out of the back window...and I'm not all that fond of Chrystler products). I was really faced with a challenge, because I needed a car!
After reading reviews on the "toaster" I decided I might as well check it out. The reviews were very positive, and after all, it is a Toyota product, and Toyota has a stellar reputation. So, I figured for the price, I'd give the ugly thing a try. I was absolutely amazed at the interior space! At 5' 1", I can almost stand up in the car. There is enough room in the back seat for me to take a nap. the seats are extremely comfortable. You would never know you were in a lower-priced car.
I love the non-negotiable price of the car. There is no haggling, no worries about getting ripped off. the only thing you will have to worry about is how you will ever decide on what options to go with. There are lots of options for the Scion XB, adding to the fun of your purchase. You have a selection of headlights, sound systems, interior neon lights, covers for your hatch gear, bra fronts, etc... to trick up your vehicle. All of this, at a very reasonable price, and Toyota quality.
My only complaint with my XB is that at my height, I have a hard time reaching the interior overhead light. Since I can stand up in the car, it is not that big of a deal, and is a great reminder of the size of the interior.
I am currently getting 32 MPG. Considering the fuel prices right now, that is certainly a huge factor and why I am so glad I purchased my little milk truck.
