Author's Review
I bought the Scrabble Complete game from Game Stop, a store near by me. It was a used open boxed buy that I paid only $3.00 for. Who could complain about that price right? I have seen it brand new in stores like the mall, or department stores and places such as those. To get a new copy is cheap enough at only ten dollars but I was there so I bought it open boxed for the cheaper price. I honestly was not sure if I was going to like the game or not.
To install this game:
All you have to do is get the package open. This can be proved harder to do then getting the game in by the way. Then once you have it open you install it by placing it in to your CD rom. Then you select your installing option that you want, custom install or full recommended install. If you choose recommended it puts the game on your C drive. You also have the option to place a short cut on your desk top when the game is done installing in to your computer. The whole set up takes five minutes if that to get it in.
The requirements to use this game:
The requirements are fairly simple. All you need is a computer that works, and have Windows 95 and over in order to play the Scrabble Complete game. There is nothing more to it then that so every one should be set up for it really.
How to play the Scrabble Complete game:
If you ever had the Scrabble board game back in the day. You must remember it fondly. This is based on that exact game only it in on your screen instead of being on your table. At least with this version you don't have any thing to set up before you play it. With the exception of typing your name in to the player box, and the other players name if in fact you are playing with two people.
You are given 7 letter to start you off. They can be any letters in the alphabet or a blank. A blank means that you can turn that blank square in to any letter that you choose. And use that letter in your game to make a word. You can spell any word you choose. You can not abbreviate any words or create a word that does not exist. The game only allows words that are really found in a dictionary stationed in the game.
If you do not have the proper letters to create a word you can trade off letters, or if you are further in to the game and no tiles are left to trade you can choose to pass your turn to the other player. You just continue making words until some one uses all of the tiles that they had. Or if there are no words left to make and no tiles to trade for either player. To one with the highest score will win the game in the end.
With the Scrabble Complete game you are able to choose a computer opponent or a human one. If you have no one who can play the game with you, choose the computer opponent to play with you. Make sure you choose a skill level that is easy, medium or hard so that your opponent will be suited to your playing standards. As you can tell this is a very simple and easy game to play. My daughter plays it and she is only six years old. This is a fun game for her. I also play it quite often. I find it is mentally stimulating to a degree. And I have fun playing it even if I play it by my self.
Who is this game for:
This game is for anyone who can spell! It is easy enough to just make up words, compete with people and build off of their words as well. My daughter plays, my wife plays and a few of my daughter's friends play it when they come over to play with her. It is a family favorite in our house hold. This game is a lot of fun for every one.
My final thoughts on the Scrabble Complete game:
The Scrabble Complete game has become a game that we play at least once a week. More often then not we play two to three times per week on a good week where we all have the time. My daughter looks forward to it. Who says you have to have a game sitting on a table to have family fun right? We have loads of fun just playing at the computer. There is nothing really to be said for the graphics. It is large tiles on a jumbo board game. Clear to see and low back round music that you can turn off if you want. I highly recommend the Scrabble Complete game. It is great for the whole family to play.
