Be careful when deciding on this drive!

I've just put in for a second RMA on this drive. Both times the bootrecord goes south. The Dell Latitude on which this drive is installed will go through POST and then sit at a black screen with the cursor on the top left side of the screen. Trying to recover the MBR with all kinds of tools (MBRTOOL, MBRFIX, FIXMBR), repairing/recovering XP and re-installing XP to different location on the same partition didn't do any good. Seagate Tech Support said there were no known issues with this "if we would know about this problem we'd have a problem with our laptop buyer community". However, a quick look at newegg's reviews for this drive shows that there are a number of the same boot problems out there. Although a large percentage of the reviews is positive, you'll be running the risk of having to rebuild your disk with this drive and will have to weigh that against the super disk size.
