season 5

I love Sex And The City, its so funny and its just really compelling viewing, but i didnt think this until series three. I dont rate the first 2 seasons at all, i didnt like the parts where random members of the public make comments with carries voice over - which also took alot of getting used to.

My dislike of the first two seasons isnt helped by the fact that you can only buy the season one dvd is NTSC format, which means if youre dvd player is a PS2 then youre forced to watch the first season in black and white. When we reached season three, sex and the city had become a cult show, everybody had at least heard of it. In my view thats when the quality started to pick up. I love seasons three and four, but then, when we get to season 5, suddenly we're rationed to 8 episodes -whats going on there? where are the other ten? I cant speak for everybody, but i personally feel very scammed indeed about only getting 8 episodes in seasons 5 and 6. I like sex and the city because they dont short change you on episode length - like they do in Friends, the average friends episode lasts 22 minutes, which isnt very long at all, and that includes the title music.

As far as storylines and show quality go i cant complain at all, its a fantastic show and every woman should watch it, even my boyfriend knows all the characters' names and plotlines. I will say though, that i was really disappointed that aiden and carrie didnt get married, and that charlotte settled for that horrible hairy man. Im quite distraight about samantha getting cancer in season 6 and i really hope she pulls through, but this review isnt about the plotlines. Its about the show in general and the lack of episodes in the final seasons.
To people who havent yet bought all 5 available sesons, dont buy them from a virgin megastore, or a music zone. Im not aware of the prices in hmv and mvc but in the virgin stores i know that a season will set you back 27 quid, I bought mine from play.com for 16.99, and i know that amazon.co.uk offer them for less than high street retailers. Stock up while you can because i believe theyll only be cheap while season 6 is airing.
