I touch this thing more than myself!

When I started as a staff accountant for an accounting firm, I was greeted with this dandy device in my new cube. Having a good ten-key is very important when you crunch numbers all day. This here product is a darn good ten-key. I have noticed the following features during my 15 months of carrying this thing around and utilizing it.

Adequate key size

The keys on this ten-key are a perfect size for me. I have average size hands and I never have any difficulties with the keys. I have noticed that the keys on a similar calculator by Texas Instruments are very slim, and its easy to miskey on their products. On the Sharp EL1197GIII however, you have to put at least a little force when inputting. This is a good thing.

No sticky keys

I have used this machine over and over and the keys have stayed the same. None of the keys have gotten stuck yet. It makes my life a little less stressful having a product I can rely on.

The power cord is too short

When I go to a client's office, I always need an extension cord to plug this thing in the wall. As far as I know, all ten-keys do not have long enough power cords. The Sharp EL1197GIII neither loses nor gains any points here.

The paper is tough to feed

You really have to stick in the tape far (and straight) into the feeder before it will catch. This is a pain in the booty. I hate spending precious time trying to get the paper to feed.

Overall

There really is not a whole lot more to say about this calculator. I am pleased with what it has provided me. It gets the job done for me and has yet to breakdown. If I ever get an adding machine for myself, this would likely be the product I would buy.
