I was unable to find the Sharp Carousel model R3W97, so until they add that one to the list, I am placing it here. I hope you don't mind.
This Sharp Carousel midsize countertop microwave is sharp! I dont even have to boil water for tea anymore, or turn on the oven for a baked potato and heat up the whole house.
This microwave is over five years old and has been moved several times during those years. And it still works as if I just bought it yesterday.
First of all, I love how it looks. It is white. If you clean it often enough, it will always look brand new. It is very stylish and fits on a countertop wonderfully. It is also very light and I can move it out easily to clean underneath it and behind it.
The best part about it is that it rotates, so no more spot heating. Gotta hate that spot heating where one bite is stone cold, and the next bite you burn your mouth! There is a round glass dish that sits on three pegs on the inside, and it rotates so that the food heats up evenly.
As I mentioned before, it is very easy to clean. That is important to me because I live in Florida, and bugs are around all year round, and they especially love dirty kitchens. So, I clean the microwave as often as possible. The inside glass dish can be removed and even put in the dishwasher to be cleaned. But, it is glass and it is fairly heavy, so dont let your kids handle this piece. The round plastic ring it rotates on is also removable and able to be cleaned. The insides are very easy to wipe down. I just use a household cleaner, or even just soap and water is fine. I use glass cleaner on the door and glass dish.
The last thing I want to mention are the lifesaver, time-saver buttons. Like the one for popcorn! Thats one of my favorites. You have to press one button, and thats it. You have a perfect bag of popcorn. Its that simple. Another great button is the baked potato button. Tired of heating it up in the oven during the summer? Press that button, and in less than four minutes, you have a perfect baked potato. It gives you just enough time to grab the butter and sour cream!
There are also more wonderful lifesaver, time-saver buttons. There is a beverage button, to heat up tea or hot chocolate. And you wont burn your mouth on it either. Then, there is a fresh vegetable button, and a muffin button. Got leftovers? Try the dinner plate button. While youre running around feeding the animals and changing your clothes, your leftovers from last night will taste delicious in about 3 minutes.
Then, there is DEFROST! There are 3 settings for defrost-ground meat, steaks/chops, and chicken pieces. In each setting you can plug in the weight of the meat, and then press start. So, if you forget to defrost dinner the night before, this will definitely save you time.
So, all in all, this is a wonderful little machine and I dont know what life would be without one!
